Our deposits are located 3 km south of the city of Potosí on the road to the city of Tarija, the facilities are located in an area on the south east slopes of the world’s largest pure silver deposit called "Cerro Rico” (translation “Rich Hill”) mined since 1545.
Andean’s focus is the extraction of silver from the secondary mineral deposition within shallow quaternary deposits at Cerro Rico called “Pallaco”.
The core of Cerro Rico is a high sulfidation epithermal deposit, with advanced argillization, silicification and Vuggy alterations of silica (above). It presents a vertical and horizontal zoning with a nucleus enriched in Sn-Ag and a halo of Zn-Ag-Pb in veins, Stock Works, hydrothermal breccias and disseminations.
Presence of a secondary deposit on the slopes of the hill, product of the erosion and metorization processes that acted on the primary deposit, this accumulation of material is found in sectors of depression, ravines and areas of low slope, locally it is called "Pallaco".
