SILVERSMITHS SCHOOL
SILVERSMITHS SCHOOL
Manquiri renewed its commitment to support not only the development and training of qualified human resources in the silversmithing but also the massive production of jewels and silverworks. These guidelines adhere to the silver industrialization policy promoted by the Bolivian State.
These public-private alliances for development have acquired increased importance given the concurrence of resources and shared responsibility reinforcing the relationship among several actors to generate enhanced capacities through joint work.
Manquiri has established an alliance with the Municipal Government of Potosí to promote the silver industry. The plan has three fundamental stages of positioning the city of Potosí as the silversmith center per excellence: 1.- Training of highly qualified human resources for silverware and silver jewelry to reach 100 technicians from silversmiths; 2.- technician from silversmiths begin to produce jewelry and silver items with high benefit through their own companies or a factory, and 3.- implementation of a global marketing system, to position the silversmith companies from Potosi.

FARMING
Another priority in the Ayllu Jesús de Machaca communities was the construction of 15 greenhouses for horticultural production. The benefited communities are in a position to improve their food quality. These greenhouses' output aims to diversify the community members' food security and the surpluses destined for the market, generating income.
FISH FARM
FISH FARM
The community of Chalviri Alta, Potosí, has identified the potential of trout farming as the driving force behind its development. A fish farm was built with facilities for spawning, hatching, fingerlings, fattening, filleting trout, and facilities and equipment for the preparation of balanced meals.
This fish farm has a production capacity of 100,000 fingerlings and more than 4,000 kilos of trout meat per year, benefiting both Ayllu and the population of the city due to the high demand for this product. Through this project, the community improves their food quality and the economic income generated by its commercialization.
The fish farm is one of the most important projects executed by the Ayllu community and financed by Manquiri.
TOURISM
TOURISM
As a complement and integrated project to the Fish Farm, Manquiri financed the construction and implementation of the "Community Tourist Complex" in the community of Lackachaca. It consists of two cabins, two modules for the restaurant, grills, boats, bathrooms, and attached services.
The fingerlings are raised in the fish farm and transfer to the Lackachaca lagoon to develop and allow the community and tourists to fish. The visitors can buy the fish and take with them, cook the trout on the installed grills or ask the restaurant to cook and serve them.
The services offered are fishing, local cuisine based on trout and llama, boat rides, and guided walks. This project directly benefits 80% of the residents of Ayllu community and the population of Potosí as on weekends, families go to enjoy the amenities of the Community Tourist Complex.
